Capes lead the way to Dry Market success

The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) was up 59 points and now stands at 2,501 thanks to the Capes surge; Geopolitics more than enigmatically perplexed. John Faraclas’ brief daily recap:

The Capes’ BCI was up 203 points and now reads 4,862…

The Panamaxes’ BPI was down one at 2,261; what an oxymoron!

Four points plus for the Supras’ BSI now at 1,350 points…

Six points plus for the Handies’ BHSI now at 677!

Mixed feelings for the Wets; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 651 – minus three and 470 –  plus one points respectively.

The WTI was down to US$ 53.95!

Geopolitics turning sour,  for many a matter of more than survival!

The MIGRANTS are all over the place; from the Straits of Dover to the entire Med and the Black Sea causing unnecessary distress to all! Ultra CAUTIOn should be observed. Given the failure to contain the MIGRANTS flow, our position remains the only viable one: Naval Blockade with a Mandate and Rules of Engagement for the entire Med and Black Sea regions. Same should apply at the British Channel!

BREXIT takes another twist and turn with British PM Boris Johnson being floored down on round one; what’s next now! He had to face rebels with a cause and he lost 328 – 301! CAUTION! Elections looming in the background…

Turkey continues its blackmail policy and pesters all of its neighbours in a pathetic way. Wonder when the shit hits the fan were Turkey’s backers will be…

Greece tries to gain back normality; tough times still ahead in all fronts. Let’s see what the Thessaloniki Fair brings… Meantime Greece’s Shipping Minister “tours” the British capital with visits to the IMO and his counterparts’ offices… but in our humble view he should have arranged to be there during the LISW2019!

Europe is shaking with the BREXIT and many more issues… The entire Med and Black Seas too! As said above, Turkey continues its blackmail policy in all fronts and wonder when the end comes how would president Erdogan use his excuses… CAUTION!

Italy tries to float with a new coalition avoiding the costly elections… That’s good for the moment but in the long run it will backfire…

Argentina enters yet another messy period; we think that the problem is mainly political and dragging the inheritance of the previous government which left an absolute disaster in the country and which Macri tried to solve but without having the means to do so. It is very sad to see this country again in this valley after the peak people thought they could achieve. In four years,  Macri could not do much to recover, mainly having the absurd peronistas in the opposition. CAUTION!

Next door Brazil faces herculean issues with the fires in the Amazon and economic as well as social discontent; can Bolsonaro make it safe?

The Bahamas are devastated following Hurricane Dorian passage… Very sad to see the jewels of the north Caribbs suffer in this way with loss of human life too and many injured… To be more emphatic:  disastrous catastrophe…

More US sanctions against China… and others…

What a disaster that was yesterday morning when the dive boat “Conception” caught fire with 39 passengers and crew on board at an anchorage just off Santa Cruz siland, California? What a disaster!

Wonder were the Iranian Tanker “Adrian Darya 1” will discharge her cargo… and who is the cargo buyer!

That’s all for tonight, have a nice evening and remain on guard from actions emanating from Pirates, Terrorists, Criminals and Business Hooligans whatsoever wherever you are on Planet Ocean…
