Nikos also held the role of Bulk Carrier Segment Manager, making a significant impact for clients across the segment through his drive and expertise.
Nikos succeeds Nikolas Vaporis, who has left Lloyd’s Register to pursue new opportunities, concluding a long period of great contribution going back to 2007. We wish to take this opportunity to thank Nikolas for the drive, dedication and commitment he has demonstrated to our clients during his time at LR.
In addition, Panayiotis (Panos) Mitrou, has been appointed as the Global Gas Segment Manager, based in Piraeus. Panos’ will drive innovative thinking and pioneer technical work in the gas sector of Marine & Offshore, ensuring LR is able to deliver an enhanced service portfolio to Greek shipowners as well as the global shipping community.

Having been with LR for over 14 years, most recently working in the Piraeus business team, Panos is well-known and highly respected by the Greek gas ship-owning community and his involvement with the wider LNG infrastructure projects has allowed him to develop strong relationships with European, regional and national gas stakeholders.

Theodosis Stamatellos, LR’s Marine & Offshore South Europe Regional Manager, says: “ Recognising the remarkable footprint the Greek shipping industry has had on the wider industry, we continue to expand our Piraeus office, and invest in our client facing teams. By advancing local competences with global influence, we will add  value to our client base in Greece.  I am confident that these appointments will add further value to the market and are another reflection of LR’s continuous pursuit of excellence towards the market and unrivalled focus on client needs.”.
