Heightened alert for viral pneumonia

China has reported an outbreak of a mysterious viral pneumonia which infected dozens of people the central city of Wuhan.
In line with this, all are hereby directed to intensify the following quarantine procedures:
- Heightened surveillance on all respiratory infections or pneumonia symptoms in all conveyances coming from China including thorough review of the submitted maritime declaration of health and health part of Aircraft General Declaration;
- Continuous passive screening of incoming travelers;
- Information dissemination among travelers regarding pneumonia;
- Coordinate with port and airport authorities and partners on identifying areas for display of information, education and communication (IEC) materials.

Temporary suspension of ships’ garbage services

The Port of Esperance will suspend all biosecurity waste service for the next four (4) months, starting 1 February 2020 to 29 May 2020 to allow completion of re-roofing operations on the adjacent shed at the port.
