The charts of old showing weather fronts have largely been replaced by data and images displayed on computers. Used by bridge systems and allowing shore-based analysis, modern weather forecasting gives the seafarer tools to plot improved routes with a knock-on benefit to voyage bonuses and charter pool shares.
This Webinar will:

·        explain the way in which this data is created
·        explore some of the pitfalls in its use
·        provide practical advice to seafarers

If you are a deck officer, owner, superintendent, charterer or member of operations staff, join Huw Davies, Principal of Meteorology at Stratum Five Group, as he sheds light on this vital subject.
Having joined the Royal Navy at 16, Huw Davies became Director of Operations at the Fleet Numerical Meteorological and Oceanographic Centre and Chairman of the Military Oceanography Council of NATO. Prior to his current role outside the Navy, he worked at Rolls-Royce and set up a weather and routeing business. He is the UK member of the World Meteorological Organisation and Steering Committee on Marine Meteorology and Oceanographic Services.
