London International Shipping Week 2021 | Latest news

On behalf of the LISW21 Steering Group and Board of Advisors, the Shipping Innovation team would like to share warmest holiday wishes to all of you celebrating this festive season.

While many of us will understandably be eager to draw this tumultuous year to a close, we encourage you to look back on 2020, as we do, as the year that reacquainted us all with the enduring resilience which is so characteristic of the shipping industry.

This year our industry has navigated the impact of a global pandemic; it has implemented the IMO’s 0.50% sulphur limit as well as resolve one of the worst crew repatriation problems of a generation, among others. While the journey is far from over, we feel the shipping sector should be proud of its achievements throughout 2020.

We wish you all the best for the festive season, and we look forward to seeing you again in a healthy, happy 2021.

In what is our last sponsor spotlight of 2020, we’re pleased to welcome Watson Farley & Williams and ITOPF onboard as LISW21 sponsors and we would like to extend a hand of greeting to I.S.E.S as an LISW21 Supporting Organisation.

Watson Farley & Williams (WFW), an international law firm specialising in the energy, real estate and transport sectors joins as a Gold sponsor for LISW21. It provides high quality legal services through a combination of technical excellence and industry knowledge within its principal sectors, with specialist lawyers providing effective and commercially focused advice across a broad range of corporate, finance, dispute resolution, tax, employment, and regulatory matters.

Joining as a Bronze sponsor, ITOPF is a leading, not-for-profit advisor of ship pollution response, providing objective advice worldwide on effective response to spills of oil, chemicals, and other substances at sea. The organisation is maintained by the world’s shipowners and their insurers to promote effective response to spills of oil, chemicals and other substances in the marine environment.

I.S.E.S., (International Ship Engineering Service Association) was founded in 1963, providing repairs, service and equipment to the merchant marine and offshore Industries in all major ports worldwide. Its objective is to form an independent, high quality global network of members to provide electrical, mechanical, and other specialised services to the marine industry.

We are grateful for this support for LISW21 across the industry and are pleased to welcome Watson Farley & Williams, ITOPF, and I.S.E.S. to the fold.
