Antiquorum at Hôtel de ParisAntiquorum, which describes itself as the World’s Premier Auctioneers of Modern and Vintage Timepieces, will hold an auction in Monaco once again in the splendid Hôtel de Paris on Wednesday, July 21
“To the delight of avid collectors everywhere, bidders will have a chance to attain amazing lots, including for the first time ever on the auction circuit a Patek Philippe Ref. 5711/1A—otherwise known as the steel Nautilus with sunburst olive green dial introduced earlier this year as model replacing the iconic blue dialled Ref. 5711-1A-010.”
Young artists invited to Grimaldi Forum workshopsChildren’s workshops continue this coming week at the Grimaldi Forum as the Giacometti summer exhibition continues.
Themes per day: Model drawing: Children take a classmate as a model to paint his portrait in pencil, taking turns experimenting with posing (from a distance, as Giacometti did) and learning sketching methods.
The portrait: The children work from a painted portrait of Annette: they reproduce the drawing of the character and the general construction of the canvas with a black pen, then colour the surface in shades of grey and brown with dry pastels.
Modelling: Children build a head or bust with a “Giacometti-style” base from a block of hardening clay. Wire sculpture: Children reproduce the sculpture of the Walking Man in clay from a metal rod, Alberto Giacometti’s preferred method.
Still life: Like Giacometti paying homage to Cézanne, children work from compositions of apples, translating volumes and shadow play to dry pastels. Youth Workshops July 12 to 23, 2021 Monday to Friday 10:00. to midday or 14:00 to 16:00. 7-11 years, 20 children maximum per workshop.
