Trans Global Projects establishes a company in India
Paddock Wood, Kent, 15 September 2021: The Trans Global Projects Group (TGP), an international project logistics company headquartered in Kent, UK, is strengthening its foundations for project logistics activity in India with the creation of the company ‘TGP Projects India Pvt Ltd.’ Established in July 2021, the Mumbai-based addition to the TGP Group is now fully operational.
Having been active in India for over 30 years and previously operated a representative office in the region, the TGP Group is now taking the next step into the Indian market. With the incorporation of TGP India, the Group can provide extended service capabilities to existing customers in India as well as grow activities beyond its well-established customer base.
TGP CEO, Colin Charnock, says TGP India’s main offering is project logistics management. He notes, “Our principal focus is on serving the export market from India for oil and gas, power and renewables industries to project locations worldwide, but also on selected construction projects within India.”
The company’s activities will be overseen by the co-managing directors of TGP India, Manoj Mehra and Girish Pandey. Mehra brings 35 years of experience in international shipping, transport and project cargo handling for a broad range of industries. At the beginning of his career, Mehra represented TGP in India from 1988 to 1991, and over the years, he has successfully interacted with multinational clients across Asia, Europe and the Americas. Meanwhile, Pandey has over 30 years of transport industry experience in various commercial and operational roles, both within India and abroad. In addition to his managerial know-how, Pandey’s technical insights as well as transport engineering expertise offer a strong advantage.
Experts have predicted India to be the world’s second-fastest growing major economy in fiscal year 2022, behind only China. With the country’s exports expected to grow in the coming years, efficient logistics services are anticipated to be in high demand.
Charnock is confident that TGP India will open up great business opportunities: “With this new addition to the TGP family, we are not only strengthening our capabilities for serving our current clients in India, but also creating new opportunities for additional clientele in the region.” He adds, “India’s exports are expected to continue to expand, and we are very pleased to work with our colleagues in Mumbai to keep TGP ahead of customer demand in this growing market.”
