“Financing & Investments Spearheading Sustainable Growth”
Successfully concluded with record attendance on June 8, 2023, under the Auspices of Attica Region at Divani Caravel Athens Hotel.
The Forum’s audience of over 400 attendees was engrossed in the fascinating discussions of topical issues by the 35 exceptional speakers featured at the event. The room remained fully packed throughout the entire duration of the Forum.
Speakers included Greek-American businessmen C. Dean Metropoulos and John Koudounis, along with excellent Greek participants, amongst whom were senior representatives from the government and heads of the private and public sectors. The forum’s 10 engaging sessions enabled a wide audience to consider a variety of ideas, analyses, and perspectives regarding the pressing issues surrounding ESG. Additionally, the event served as a hub in which key players could interact and exchange ideas about new trends and challenges in Sustainability, Financing & Investments. The Forum concluded by highlighting the role of Sustainability as a key parameter for attracting investments, as well as its importance as a prerequisite for more and more companies.
Recognizing the importance of Sustainability, Greece has embarked on an ambitious journey to integrate it into its policies, practices, and culture in general, a move which has made the prospect of most economic and business sectors in the country incorporating a sustainable production model in their work more promising.
Former Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, government representatives, and prominent personalities from all sectors of political and economic life, attended the Forum. The event concluded with the Award presentation to the Chair of the Hellenic Capital Market Commission (HCMC), Mrs. Vasiliki Lazarakou, JSD.
The Forum offered the opportunity to a limited number of NGOs (twenty) to showcase and communicate their programs, needs, and objectives by highlighting their important work to the Forum participants.

“2023 CAPITAL LINK SUSTAINABILITY LEADERSHIP AWARD”
The “2023 Capital Link Sustainability Leadership Award” was presented to Mrs. Vassiliki Lazarakou, JSD, Chair of the Hellenic Capital Market Commission (HCMC)
The award honors and recognizes:
- Her impressive professional achievements – especially given her position at the highest supervisory Market Authority, a position of particular responsibility and significance, as it plays the most influential role in the smooth operation of the market.
- Her status as a representative of all women in the effort to reinforce the presence and recognition of the contribution of women in business, with the recent example being the provision included in the legislation to increase the percentage of women on the Boards of Directors of listed companies (Law 4706/2020 on Corporate Governance of Societes Anonymes).
