ABS Event: FuelEU Maritime – Transition to Compliance
The American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) is organizing the event “FuelEU Maritime – Transition to Compliance” which will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at the Golf Prive Club, in Athens.
FuelEU Maritime Regulation is a technical measure that aims to decarbonize maritime transport in the EU. It has three key requirements, to reduce the GHG intensity of the energy used on board, to promote the use of onshore power supply (OPS) in main European ports and incentivize the uptake of renewable and sustainable fuels. FuelEU Maritime sets well-to-wake greenhouse gas (GHG) emission intensity requirements on energy used on board ships over 5000 GT trading in the EU and will be implemented from 1 January bringing a significant impact on ships visiting EU ports.
ABS Fuel EU Maritime event brings together experts from various sectors to assist shipping companies in their efforts for compliance and provide valuable insights for reducing the compliance cost.
