At this year’s Milan Design Week, the Italian luxury knitwear brand Laneus makes a bold and poetic debut into home interiors through a collaboration with French artist Thomas Lélu. Known for his irreverent wit and handwritten quote art, Lélu brings his signature humor and conceptual depth to a limited-edition home décor capsule presented at the Laneus showroom in the historic Cinque Vie district.
The setup feels more like a curated gallery than a traditional showcase. A pouf, blanket, and pillowcase—all crafted in jacquard cotton blends with piqué and bouclé textures—anchor the collaboration, blending rustic charm with refined elegance. Each piece is embroidered with Lélu’s original quotes, two reflecting Laneus’ design DNA and one serving as a cheeky manifesto for the design week itself.

The collaboration is more than just product-based—it’s performative. Guests were invited to an exclusive live art session where Lélu painted one of his quote canvases in real-time. His works, along with limited-edition signed serigraphs, are available for purchase both online and in the Laneus space, further breaking the boundaries between fashion, art, and design.

The French artist’s multidisciplinary approach—spanning photography, writing, and visual art—pairs seamlessly with Laneus’ commitment to craftsmanship and minimalist-modern aesthetics. The result is a sensorial dialogue between fabric and phrase, humor and heritage, all encapsulated in the thoughtful intimacy of a home interior collection.

With its immersive atmosphere, this creative encounter between fashion and contemporary art marks a new chapter for Laneus—one where objects speak, interiors emote, and design becomes a language of its own.
