Nantes, 6 May 2025 – On 19 and 20 June 2025, Nantes Saint-Nazaire Développement, in partnership with the Pays de la Loire Region and ADEME, will host the third edition of Wind for Goods, the international meeting dedicated to wind-powered maritime transport, in Saint-Nazaire. This edition, labelled “La Mer en Commun”, promises a rich programme of conferences, panel discussions, networking sessions, and live demonstrations. Over 70 exhibitors from across France and internationally will present their cutting-edge solutions.

A promising sector for the decarbonisation of maritime transport, wind propulsion has passed the symbolic milestone of 100 vessels either in service or on order. As the industry enters a crucial stage, this third edition of Wind for Goods will focus on the theme: “Wind-Powered Maritime Transport: The Challenge of Large-Scale Deployment.”

Currently 90% of global goods trade is transported by maritime transport, which is responsible for 3% of global CO₂ emissions. The latest regulatory measures adopted by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in April 2025 aim for net zero emissions by or around 2050.

The decarbonisation of maritime transport is already underway, driven by a host of innovative technologies. Among these, wind propulsion is playing a leading role, with developments across the full value chain. Wind for Goods is a unique biennial opportunity to bring together all the stakeholders in the sector – from ship designers and builders to charterers, shipowners, logistics operators, digital solution providers, equipment manufacturers, financial institutions, and more. Over 70 exhibitors are expected from both France and abroad.

With nearly 20 conferences and panel discussions, Wind for Goods also offers a valuable platform for industry leaders, transport operators, regulatory bodies, and professional associations to exchange ideas and debate key national and international issues in the sector.
