Make sure you are aware of a minor change to the timings of the Pentland Firth Maritime Safety Information (MSI) broadcast.
From 10.10am on Monday 26 January the MSI will commence broadcast at ten past the hour to align with the Shetland scheduled broadcasts at the Durness and Noss Head VHF radio sites.
The responsibility for delivery for the MSI in Pentland Firth is moving from the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) in Aberdeen, to the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre in Shetland, resulting in the slightly earlier time.
The transition comes following an internal review which identified the opportunity to improve the service provided, with minimal impact to listeners.
The broadcasting of the Pentland Firth MSI from Aberdeen MRCC will cease at 10.30am on Friday 30 January.
The VHF channels for MSI broadcasts will remain the same: Durness radio site Channel 63, and Noss Head radio site Channel 62.
