Tug boat crew strike
Tug boat service at Fos/Lavera/Marseille Port will stop at 0500 on Thursday
(26 June) due to a crew strike called by the Union CGT Port and Docks.
A general crew meeting will be held at 1300 hours on 26 June to decide
whether to resume work or extend the strike until 27 June.

Ramadan 2014 working hours
During the holy month of Ramadan, the working hours for DP World UAE Region
are as below:
Commercial and Administrative Departments: 08:00 hours – 14:00 Sunday to
Thursday
Container Terminals:
Operations will continue as normal. Gate operations will continue 24 hours.
General Cargo:
Normal Shift 08:00 hours – 14:00 hours
Overtime hours:
Iftar Break 18:00 hours – 21:00 hours
Suhoor Break 03:30 hours – 04:30 hours
Container Freight Station:
Normal Shift 08:00 hours – 14:00 hours
Overtime: 1400 hours onwards
Commercial Trucking Department:
Operations will continue 24 hours
Marine Department:
Berthing and un-berthing of vessels will continue 24 hours
All services provided during overtime hours will be charged in accordance
to overtime rates as listed in the Port Tariff.

Dredging and removal/laying of private moorings
For approximately three months, marine works involving dredging operations,
removal and laying of private moorings will be carried out in the following
areas in Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter:
AREA 1:
This area is bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates
(WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (C):
(A) 22º 17.191’N / 114º 11.219’E
(B) 22º 17.125’N / 114º 11.131’E
(C) 22º 17.165’N / 114º 11.119’E
AREA 2:
This area is bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates
(WGS 84 Datum) from (D) to (J) and the adjacent shoreline:
(D) 22º 17.054’N / 114º 11.168’E
(E) 22º 17.117’N / 114º 11.139’ E
(F) 22º 17.141’N / 114º 11.171’ E
(G) 22º 17.094’N / 114º 11.217’ E
(H) 22º 17.087’N / 114º 11.198’ E
(I) 22º 17.075’N / 114º 11.201’ E
(J) 22º 17.064’N / 114º 11.224’ E
The works will be carried out by one grab dredger and one hopper barge.
Some tugs and guard boats will provide assistance. The number of vessels
engaged in the works will change from time to time to suit operational
requirements.
A working area of approximately 50 metres around each working vessel will
be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will
be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the working
vessels.
A silt curtain, extending from the sea surface to the seabed, will be
established around the dredger. The silt curtain is a large piece of
netting used to contain mud and sediments. Yellow markers fitted with
yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the extent of the silt curtain.
The hours of work will be from 0700 to 2300 hours. Vessels employed for the
works will stay in the works area outside the hours of work.
Vessels engaged in the works will display signals as prescribed in
international and local regulations.
Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.

Ship movements suspended due to strong wind warning
Ship movements at Port Kembla have been suspended until further notice, in
light of strong winds forecast today and tomorrow (24 & 25 June).
Efforts will be made to minimise delays to all shipping movements, and the
shipping condition will be re-assessed at 0600 tomorrow morning (25 June).

Port Tariff to rise
A Port Tariff increase will come into effect for New South Wales ports
covering Sydney (Gore Bay, Port Botany and Kurnell) from 1 August.
Sydney Ports has determined that an increase in Statutory Charges of 9.64%
is required (for Navigation Services, Pilotage and Site Occupation for
Non-Passenger Vessels) for all commercial ships and related cargo arriving
in the port.
