John Faraclas

The BDI’s rise earlier on today was more or less …trimmed with a 16 points plus whilst at the UN things were heating up… John Faraclas’ brief report:

All indices were on the plus but with minimal or no change…

The Capes’ BCI  rose just four points to 1,868…

The Panamaxes BPI gained 30 good points and now reads 1,639!

Five points were enough for the Supras’ BSI now at 1,190 points, a very enviable level compared with all other sizes fluctuations…

No change for the Handies’ BHSI; …”stranded” at  622 points but still healthy!

The Wets were also up! The last published BDTI (Dirties)  and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 793 – plus three and 516- plus five points respectively.

The WTI stood still high; at US$ 72 might take an upwards course towards US$ 100 and then the shit will hit the fan… Shame to manipulate in a despicable way the price of oil! Back to US$49.99 or else!

The Geopolitics remained …“tied-up” with the UN deliberations as well as the standard issues – Migrants the Wars in the Gib to Afghanistan – Caucuses to the Horn of Africa belt… The Greek, Turkish, Cypriot and wider Middle East conflicts… The BREXIT might ignite a global recession at worse the beginning of the end of the EU! The EU is in tatters; end of the story!

A full house with Martin Stopford delivering his overview and outlook on Shipping, Shipbuilding and Trade

On another note and tone the 11th Annual Capital Link Shipping & Marine Services Forum in partnership with Fearnleys Securities  at a full house in London’s Royal Society’s main auditorium was yet another success from any ankle you can judge same, save the Q&A time which was well “replaced” by an intense networking and that compensated all eager to strike… All sectors were covered in nine panels and there were also individuals deliveries  –  four powerful and to the point.   Will revert with a full account but I must admit that Clay Maitland, believe it or not, was speaking my mind – u n b e l e i v a b l e !

Smiling faces; Olga Bornozis – who just had her birthday and her brother Nicolas feeling content after the forums successful outcome

A very strong international presence with the London Greek Shipping Fraternity in full force headed by Dimitris Monioudis the HESGB’s president, needless to say the  number of speakers (proportionally) !

Have a nice evening and continue to be on guard from any eventuality emanating from Pirates, Terrorists and Criminals of any kind whatsoever wherever you are on Planet Ocean!
