The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) ended the week with 64 points plus since yesterday at 1,579 and 43 since last week’s 1,536 points… The Geopolitics and in particular the financial situation on Planet Ocean remains enigmatic. John Faraclas’ brief daily and weekly recap:
A good triple rise for the Capes brought the BCI to 2,169 points – 164 plus; good results from last week with 88 points plus when it stood at 2,081 points
A dozen points for the Panamaxes’ BPI now at 1,775. The weekly pickings were encouraging too: 48 points plus from 1,727!
Despite losing three points since yesterday BSI stood above the 1,200 points threshold at 1,204. The weekly level wasn’t bad: plus seven from the 1,197 points …
Another five points plus for the Handies’ BHSI now at 657; The weekly result was good too: 20 points plus from 637… As said you don’t have to be big to be beautiful!!
The Wets with mixed feeling for today but up on the weekly account… The last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 913 that’s plus 23 and 594 minus three respectively. Encouraging weekly results: the Dirties were up 76 points from 837 and the Cleans seven – from 587 points respectively!
The WTI as these lines are written stands at US$ 71.01 Last week same clocked US$ 74.31… We reiterate our view to see the price down to US$49.99 if we wish to see further development and the 95 centum of global population having a better well-being; the rest is nonsense!
The Dow Jones lost almost 1,400 points over the last two days… Caution; thanks to …Posidon its now at 25,018. S&P down 134 points at 2,743 from 2,877 of last Monday… the FTSE this moment is just below the 7,000 point threshold…
Will revert later on with the enigmatic Geopolitics that are about to rock everything on Planet Ocean; this is a serious warning given the …“faulty line” and parameters between Gibraltar to Afghanistan, the Caucuses and the Horn of Africa coupled with the Trade Wars, Chinese, Russian and Turkish as well as religious upheavals with the Balkans ready to go up in the air.
