SHIPPINGInsight 2019 to Help Accelerate Maritime Change Fleet Optimization and Innovation Key to Success

February 13, 2019- STAMFORD, CT   Leveraging off last year’s transformative success, planning is underway for SHIPPINGInsight 2019 announced Carleen Lyden Walker, Chief Evolution Officer. In revealing plans for the 8th SHIPPINGInsight Conference and Exhibition being held in Stamford, Connecticut October 15-17 at the maritime center Stamford Hilton, Carleen continues to advocate for acclerating change during these complex times in the shipping world.

“This event will help propel shipowners as they face the decisions necessary to drive success in today’s competitive and rapidly evolving industry,” stated Carleen.  “We are assembling both visionaries and technicians from across the spectrum of fleet optimization and innovation to caucus on what is necessary to move forward.  Time waits for no one, and the clock is ticking!”

The conference and exhibition, under the theme “2020:  A Shipping Odyssey” will take place over three days. October 15th will begin with 2 private label seminars being hosted by SHIPPINGInsight sponsors followed by an afternoon of plenary sessions to set the context for today’s shipping climate and challenges. The impending IMO 2020 implementation as well as strategies for decarbonization will feature prominently in the discussions.

Day 2 will offer two sponsored breakfast seminars, with “Managing Risk Through Change” as the opening plenary discussion followed by a roundtable on “Accelerating Change- Transactional and Operational Efficiencies”.  Breakout sessions will include “Digitalization and Cybersecurity”, and “Energy Alternatives” followed by the annual Awards Luncheon recognizing signature collaborations between shipowners and technology suppliers.  The afternoon will include breakout sessions “Fuel and Bunkering” and “The Human Element” followed by plenary sessions on “Driven by Data” and “Connected Ships and Big Data”.  Additional visibility will be offered through an expanded use of SHIPPINGInsightTV.

Day 3 also offers two sponsored breakfast seminars before morning breakout sessions on Regulatory Compliance and Fleet Optimization.  The final plenary session will reprise the successful “Shark Tank” for new tech pitches, followed by the Shipowners Roundtable Luncheon.

“Last year’s “chum” were all funded by the “sharks” in our popular version of the television show” observed Carleen.  “To date, nearly half of the new tech offerings have been picked up for commercial use.”

“Change is inevitable.  Progress is optional”.  Now is the time to strategize the changes necessary to make tomorrow’s progress possible,” stated Carleen.  “SHIPPINGInsight 2019 will support that process.”
