International Offshore Development Congress (28-29 Apr, Abu Dhabi) Invites WOC as Strategic Partner
WOC to Speak on “The Future of Offshore Oil and Gas: Exploration and Production in a Crowded, Impacted, Multiple-Use Ocean” at IODC 2019
10 April 2019
WOC CEO Paul Holthus has been invited to speak in the panel on “Facing Current Offshore Business Challenges” at the 1st International Offshore Development Congress (IODC), Abu Dhabi, 28-29 April 2019.
With the theme of “Delivering the Future Together to Meet Expectations”, the inaugural IODC 2019 is set to be held annually as the region’s premier event dedicated to the offshore industry.
Organized by the Arab Association of Petroleum Professionals (AAPP) and Maarefah Energy and Advisory and Technical Committees, the IODC 2019 will gather industry leaders, technical experts and engineers for two days of discussions on regional and international offshore developments, with an emphasis on stakeholder commitment to energy and the environment.
Key conference topics will include: Offshore Opportunities in the MENA region, the Role of Technology and Alternative Solutions in Offshore, Logistics and Supply Chain Challenges in the Offshore Environment, Shipping Business – Current Challenges and Opportunities, amongst others.
WOC CEO Paul Holthus will address the challenges facing offshore oil and gas as exploration and production in marine areas that host an increasingly complex matrix of multiple uses. This creates the need and opportunity to engage with other industries to identify and address potential conflicts and synergies in use, tackle cumulative impacts to the marine ecosystem, develop shared solutions, and interact with other stakeholders. The presentation will explore the potential to develop a multi-industry alliance for leadership, collaboration and action on maritime sustainable development in the Gulf Region.
The WOC is a Strategic Partner of the IODC 2019. WOC Members are eligible for a 20% discount on the registration fee, details of which can be found in the WOC Members Pages. For enquiries, please contact info@oceancouncil.org.
