The ITF HQ’s in London
For the past 12 years, ITF affiliates have participated in the ITF campaign for International Women’s Day on the 8th of March by organising practical activities to campaign for and secure women transport workers’ rights and increase their visibility and participation in the union movement. The ITF Women’s Committee is once again calling on affiliates to mark the day.
This year’s campaign To support your activities the ITF has re-produced the campaign posters and new stickers for this year. The materials carry the slogan, ‘Strong Unions Need Women’. The materials reflect the ITF’s Organising Globally campaign which focuses on unions growing through organising, especially those campaigns that target women.
What can you and your union do?
PLAN AN ACTIVITY: When you fill out the order form for campaign materials, please let us know what activities you have planned for 8 March 2013. As in previous years, we will highlight your events on this campaign site. Take a look at what ITF unions did in 2012.
ORDER CAMPAIGN MATERIALS: This year we have a poster and a sticker. Place your order by completing the online order form and returning it by email or fax no later than Friday 1 February 2013.
SEND US YOUR PHOTOS AND VIDEOS: After 8 March 2013, please ensure you send photos and/or videos from your campaign activity so that we can add them to the website. Please send them to: women@itf.org.uk
