Teekay is the latest shipping company to reach an agreement with Telemar (UK) Ltd, with a 3 year bridge electronics maintenance contract valued at approximately $8m.

This Blue Chip contract covers the worldwide support of bridge electronics on 90 ships, operating from the UK, Brazil, Singapore and Norway.

Telemar (UK) Ltd is one of the biggest providers of bridge electronics maintenance across the world, with historic contracts with major companies such as Frontline, OSG and E.R.Schiffart.

Teekay, with its diligent tender process and careful scrutiny, chose Telemar (UK) Ltd because of its expertise, which is drawn from specialist maintenance areas within the shipping industry.  That is Telemar (UK)’s core business and what they do, carrying out hundreds of installations and services all round the world every year as part of their Blue Chip service

They include, full maintenance contracts to cover service, spares and surveys on a fixed annual fee through to surveys only and repairs when needed and charged accordingly. Additionally Blue Chip gives customers feedback about the equipment they use. Statistical information on performance allows Blue Chip customers to make more informed decisions when it comes to updating or renewing equipment.  This allows customers to know what bridge electronics are costing: by ship, by individual items of kit and by average cost per repair.
