Within the Posidonia Sea Tourism Forum & Exhibition, which took place in Megaron Athens International Conference Centre on May 28 & 29, the Certificates of ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 for Quality & Environment respectively were handed out by Mr. Lambros A. Chahalis, Vice President Regional Chief Executive Hellenic & Black Sea Region of Bureau Veritas, to the Chairman and CEO of Piraeus Port Authority S.A., Mr. Yiorgos Anomeritis.
Piraeus is the largest port in Europe and one of the world’s largest in passenger traffic and is a major destination for cruise ships in the Mediterranean. The anthropocentric character of service of the Main Port is an essential selection of the Port of Piraeus. In this context and based on ongoing upgrade services Service of cruises offered, the Piraeus Port Authority entrusted the Bureau Veritas to evaluate the Quality and Environment Management Systems implementation.
