Anuj has over 30 years maritime experience both at sea and onshore, and joins RightShip from ship manager, Anglo-Eastern where he was President for the past six years. In this role, Anuj had operational responsibility for all Anglo-Eastern managed vessels visiting US ports, managing risk evaluation, assessment and mitigation and liaising with customers, charterers, United States Coast Guard, P&I Club, flag and classification societies.

On making the appointment, Warwick Norman, RightShip’s CEO said:

Prior to joining Anglo-Eastern, Anuj was Manager, Vessel Services at O’Brien’s Oil Pollution Service where he gained considerable experience managing tanker safety and environmental incidents. Anuj began his seafaring career as a deck cadet working his way up to Master and has a Commonwealth Extra Masters Certificate of Competency and Shipping Management from the Indian Institute of Management.

Commenting on his appointment, Anuj Chopra said:

“Ship vetting is crucial to the continued safe operation of the global fleet and lessening the impact that ships have on the natural environment is of equally high importance. RightShip contributes to both these agenda leading issues and I am delighted to be joining the organisation at this pivotal time.

I am excited about the opportunities that abound at RightShip and look forward to working with my RightShip colleagues to continue our growth in the Americas region.”

Anuj will take up his new role with RightShip in the Houston office on Monday 7 October.
