Dredging at Benoi Basin

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore has advised that dredging
works will be carried out at Benoi Basin from 13 December 2013 to 12 March
14.

According to the Port Marine Notice No. 165 of 2013 dated 13 December 2013,
the works are being conducted 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public
Holidays – within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates
(WGS 84 Datum):
A) 1° 18.509’N / 103° 40.839’E
B) 1° 18.509’N / 103° 40.861’E
C) 1° 18.411’N / 103° 40.874’E
D) 1° 18.410;N / 103° 40.856’E

Dredging works will be carried out by the grab dredgers. The grab dredgers
will be held by 4-point anchoring system. The dredgers, with hopper barges
in attendance, will have a circular safety working zone of 50-metre radius
centred at the dredgers. Dredged materials will be transported to the
designated dumping ground by the hopper barges.

During the operation, the dredgers will be attended by tug boat. The tug
boats will be used to shift the dredger.

A safety boat will be deployed in the vicinity of the working area to warn
other craft of the project.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and
international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
(a) keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
(b) maintain a proper lookout;
(c) proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
(d) maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 21 (Jurong Control);
and
(e) communicate with Jurong Control on VHF Channel 21 for assistance, if
required.

Dredging at Serangoon Harbour

Dredging work is underway at Serangoon Harbour and its vicinity, within the
working area and will continue until 8 June 2014.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s Port Marine
Notice No.161 of 2013, the works are being conducted 24 hours daily –
including Sundays & Public Holidays – within the working area bounded by
the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1)  1° 23.287’N / 103° 58.352’E
2)  1° 23.312’N / 103° 58.345’E
3)  1° 23.380’N / 103° 58.302’E
4)  1° 23.250’N / 103° 58.100’E
5)  1° 23.291’N / 103° 58.226’E
6)  1° 23.243’N / 103° 58.284’E
7)  1° 23.230’N / 103° 58.292’E
8)  1° 23.229’N / 103° 58.303’E
9)  1° 23.247’N / 103° 58.319’E
10) 1° 23.256’N / 103° 58.334’E

Seawall repairs at ferry terminal

Repair works are underway to the existing seawall at the SAF Ferry Terminal
off Kuala Johor and will continue until 10 June 2014.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine
Notice No.160 of 2013, the works are being conducted 0800-2000 hours daily
– including Sundays & Public Holidays – within the working area bounded by
the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1)  1° 23.359’N / 103° 59.930’E
2)  1° 23.368’N / 103° 59.943’E
3)  1° 23.278’N / 104° 00.005’E
4)  1° 23.269’N / 103° 59.992’E
5)  1° 23.264’N / 103° 59.995’E
6)  1° 23.275’N / 104° 00.014’E
7)  1° 23.262’N / 104° 00.023’E

The repair and restoration works will entail installation of permanent
sheet pile by using vibro hammer from the flat barge and landward side.

The works will be carried out by crane barges and the materials for the
restoration works will be provided by the work barges.

A safety boat will be deployed in the vicinity of the working area to warn
other craft to keep clear of the operations.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and
international day and
night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) maintain a proper lookout;
c) proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 21 (Sembawang Control);
and
e) communicate with Sembawang Control on VHF Channel 21 for assistance, if
required.

Inspection works of Eastern Harbour Crossing, Cha Kwo Ling

From 16 December and for approximately two weeks, underwater CCTV
inspection works for the cathodic protection system of the Eastern Harbour
Crossing will be carried out within the area bounded by straight lines
joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (D) and the
adjacent shoreline:
(A) 22 deg. 17.902’N / 114 deg. 13.785’E
(B) 22 deg. 17.881’N / 114 deg. 13.748’E
(C) 22 deg. 17.916’N / 114 deg. 13.727’E
(D) 22 deg. 17.923’N / 114 deg. 13.742’E

The works will involve diving operations from time to time using the
abutting seawall as the base of operation. One guard boat will provide
assistance.

The hours of work will be from 0800 to 1800 hours. No works will be carried
out on Sundays and public holidays. The guard boat employed for the works
will not stay in the works area outside the hours of work.

The guard boat engaged in the works will display signals as prescribed in
international and local regulations.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution and keep
clear at slow speed, bearing in mind there are divers working in the area.
