Explosion and fire at refinery
Production has been suspended at the ISAB Sud Refinery in Priolo Gargallo,
Sicily, following an explosion yesterday evening (26 February).
Initial reports indicate that the explosion occurred in a compressor plant
for the production of gasoline.
Local fire fighters extinguished the ensuing fire. Staff were evacuated and
no casulaties or injuries have been reported.
The Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation and the site has been
seized. Even if the investigation is quickly concluded to allow the
refinery to resume full-speed production, delays may to be expected.

Navigation Channel interdiction
Due to underwater services in the Santos Navigation Channel, the Barnabe
Island, Alamoa, Usiminas and ValeFertil Terminals will prohibit manoeuvres
on the following dates:
March 1 (Saturday):
from 08:00 to 20:00 hours
March 3 (Monday):
from 09:00 to 21:00 hours
March 6 (Thursday):
from 09:00 to 21:00 hours
March 8 (Saturday):
from 09:00 to 21:00 hours
