Insurance requirements for vessels
Agents of all vessels including wooden crafts (Dhows) are once again
reminded that clear evidence of valid insurance must be submitted to port
control at least 24 hours prior to arrival of any GVT vessel.
Insurance coverage must provide for:
1. Pollution claims
2. Wreck removal
3. Third Party Damages
With effect from 1 July 2014, Port of Salalah will not permit entry to any
vessel/Dhow arriving without appropriate insurance coverage.

Labour Day holiday
Arrangements for crew, spares, provisions, etc. at Turkish ports shuld be
made in advance of the Labour Day public holiday on Thursday (1 May) as
official institutions and banks will be closed.
As some ports may be closed for the holiday and official services
(pilotage, towage, mooring, customs) increased by 50%, vessels are urged to
check with GAC Turkey before calling at any of the cuntry’s ports.
