Honoring the memories of the late George P. Livanos, founder of HELMEPA and Captain Vassilis C. Constantakopoulos, Honorary Chairman of the Association, the Board of Directors, having examined all the high calibre submissions, decided to award the two scholarships of €15, 000 each, for one-year postgraduate studies to the following young scientists:
(1) Sofia Darmaraki from Chania in Crete, a graduate of the Physics Dept. of the University of Athens, for the acquisition of an MSc in Physical Oceanography, at the University of Southampton, UK, and
(2) Alexandros Papanagiotou from Trikala, a graduate of the Law School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, for the acquisition of an MSc in Shipping, Trade & Finance, at Cass Business School, London, UK.
