“Waves” at New Haven, East Sussex; a great picture shot!
Following our last reporting in mid-June with respect the SKY.LINES, Christopher Hauser’s exceptional photographic exhibition, yesterday I made it to see Maciej Wolaniecki’s stunning photographic masterpieces!
This revisited collection of colourful photographs exhibited at Gallery@LR is part of a larger body of work that Lloyd’s Register surveyor Maciej Wolaniecki has taken during his travels. The title ‘Of cities and mountains, culture and the sea’ reflects the excitement and intrigue of exploring new places and every image has a story to tell.
I was impressed by the variety, angle of shooting of his themes – the themes themselves more than unique within the four subjects (cities, mountains, culture and the sea), covering all aspects of life, and have branded them as the excitement and eagerness to discover and learn by a shipping business traveller! We all travel a lot within the scope of our business function of our very demanding work in the maritime world and the success of doing something like Wolaniecki or others do is unique, offering the world something personal to awake our talented mind in showing the world what “we” have seen and bring same to the benefit of art and the wider public. In this way one can see what it entails to be in shipping…as well as where shipping can take you…

Moreover from the organisational aspect the visitor will notice that each card next to each photograph does not only mentions the name of the theme, but what actually happened the moment Wolaniecki carried out the shot; excellent and if I may say: more than unique!
The exhibition opened last Monday the 7th of July with visiting Monday to Friday 10:00 to 16:00 free of charge at the Lloyd’s Register’s reception atrium at 71 Fenchurch Street, London EC3M 4BS. Find out more on www.lr.org/Gallery.
