Suspension of ISPS Code charge

Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority has suspended the implentation of ISPS Code charge, originally scheduled to commence from 1 August 2014, until further notice.

Inspection of vessels arriving from ports in Ebola-affected countries
September 10, 2014, Ivory Coast, Abidjan
Following the recent outbreak of Ebola in the West African countries (Guinea Conakry, Liberia, Siera Leone, Nigeria), Abidjan port authorities have decided that all vessels arriving from ports in affected countries will be inspected on the roads by port health authorities prior the delivery of the entry clearance.
This requirement came into effect on 1 September 2014.
The inspection costs XOF 200, 000.00 (EUR 305) and will be on vessel account.
To ensure fast of concerned vessels, the port authorities will proceed with the inspection and invoice shipowners accordingly.
