Mitropoulos, IMO Secretary-General Emeritus and Chairman of “Maria Tsakos” Foundation, in recognition of his work in guiding the IMO through a period of challenges such as maritime security & safety and the resurgence in ocean piracy, as well as, his advocacy for pollution and greenhouse gas emissions and corporate responsibility.
