Around the Island Yacht Race

A large-scale yacht race will take place around Hong Kong Island on 16 November 2014 (Sunday). About 220 yachts are expected to participate in the race.
The yachts will set off at staggered times between 0815 hours and 0930 hours off the Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter, sailing around Hong Kong Island in a clockwise direction, and finish the race off the Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter by 1700 hours.
Masters, coxswains and persons-in-charge of vessels navigating in the vicinity of the race route should proceed with caution, giving practical consideration to the contestants. Compliance with the provisions of the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea 1972 is mandatory.

Foggy weather halts traffic

Last addition to new tugboat fleet delivered
November 10, 2014, Panama, Panama Canal
The Panama Canal has received the last of 14 new tractor tugs. It completes the new fleet of tugboats with a Holland pull of 80 tons, strengthening the waterway’s capacity for the operation of the third set of locks.
The Panama Canal now has a fleet of 46 tugboats to handle the operational demands of the current and expanded Canal, and to assist Post-Panamax vessels when transiting through the new locks.
