Revetment work at Pulau Bukom

Revetment work will be carried out at Pulau Bukom from 20 May to 20 November 2015.
According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.52 of 2015, the works will be conducted 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – within the working area bounded by the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 01 deg. 13.686’N / 103 deg. 46.220’E
2) 01 deg. 13.699’N / 103 deg. 46.229’E
3) 01 deg. 13.648’N / 103 deg. 46.275’E
4) 01 deg. 13.572’N / 103 deg. 46.216’E
5) 01 deg. 13.582’N / 103 deg. 46.201’E
The revetment work includes the removal of existing revetment by excavator on flat top barges and the laying of geotextile panels and rocks.
The flat top barges will have a circular safety working zone of 70m radius centered at the barge.
Safety boats will be deployed in the vicinity of the working area to warn other craft of the project.
Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.
When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 68 (West Control);
and
e) Communicate with West Control on VHF Channel 68 for assistance, if required.

Grounded vessel obstructing river channel

A vessel ran aground at km 289 of the Parana River yesterday (18 May), obstructing the channel.
