The joint venture between Smith Bell and Wilhelmsen Ships Service, Wilhelmsen-Smith Bell (Subic) Inc (WSBSI) was formed in 1995.
From humble beginnings with just two vessels, WSS JV is now the leading ships agent in the region, looking after over 600 vessels per year, for more than 100 customers, offering the full range of agency and maritime logistics expertise in all of the country’s ports. When first formed, WSS JV dealt only with petroleum products but today handles a range of cargo from liquid to bulk to specialized cargo including commodities such as coal, copper concentrates, cement and petroleum. WSS JV handles 60% of copper concentrates into the Philippines and 70% of all imported coal.
