Tanker buying spree by SinokorIn the bulker market, older panamax values have seen the largest movement this week following the sale of the Star Christianna, 74, 000 DWT blt ’98 Sasebo, which sold for USD  4.6 million, resulting in a drop in values.

Although there were several reported sales last week in the tanker sector, none of these had any significant effect on values as these were all done at market level. The main story from Seasure Shipbroking’s market report last week, was that Sinokor bought 4 out of the 6 tankers reportedly sold.

With no reported container sales, an improving spot rate has caused handy values to rise.
