Pilotage and towage tariffs increased

Reclamation work at Jurong Island, off Pesak Basin

The working period for reclamation work at Jurong Island, off Pesak Basin, has been extended. The work will now be conducted from 15 June to 15 October.According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s Port Marine Notice No.62 of 2015, the work will be carried out 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – within the working area bounded by the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum):

The reclamation work involves removal of existing rocks from the rock keys along the existing shoreline and stockpiling at designated re-handling area.

 

Shore protection work will be carried out by crane barges.

 

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

 

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:

a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;

b) Maintain a proper lookout;

c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;

d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control);

and

e) Communicate with Jurong Control on VHF Channel 22 for assistance, if required.

Soil investigation off Pulau Serangoon

From 15 to 30 June, soil investigation work will be conducted off Pulau Serangoon, Johor Strait.According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.66 of 2015, the works will be carried out 24 hours daily – including Sundays – within the working area at the following borehole points (WGS 84 Datum):

MBH1) 01 deg. 24.391’N / 103 deg. 55.713’E

MBH2) 01 deg. 24.412’N / 103 deg. 55.676’E

MBH3) 01 deg. 24.406’N / 103 deg. 55.753’E

MBH4) 01 deg. 24.449’N / 103 deg. 55.660’E

 

The soil investigation work will be carried out by borehole drilling using work barge.

 

The work barge, with tug boats in attendance, will have a circular safety working zone of 50 meters radius centered at the barge. Tugboats will be used for shifting the barge from one borehole location to another.

 

Safety boat will be deployed in the vicinity of the working areas to warn other craft of the project work.

 

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

 

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
