Demolition of jetty at Pasir Panjang Power Station

From 22 June to 22 October, works will be carried out to demolish a jetty at Pasir Panjang Power Station.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s Port Marine Notice No.72 of 2015, the works will be conducted from 0800 to 1900 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):

1) 01 deg. 16.112’N / 103 deg/. 47.888’E

2) 01 deg. 16.068’N / 103 deg. 47.871’E

3) 01 deg. 16.041’N / 103 deg. 47.917’E

4) 01 deg. 16.007’N / 103 deg. 47.900’E

5) 01 deg. 16.111’N / 103 deg. 47.723’E

6) 01 deg. 16.144’N / 103 deg. 47.749’E

7) 01 deg. 16.101’N / 103 deg. 47.823’E

8) 01 deg. 16.137’N / 103 deg. 47.849’E

The demolition work will be carried out by crane barge assisted by tug boats. Divers will also be deployed for underwater cutting work.

A safety boat will be deployed in the vicinity of the working area to warn

other craft and vessels of the work.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:

a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;

b) Maintain a proper lookout;

c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;

d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 21 (Sembawang Control);

and

e) Communicate with Sembawang Control on VHF Channel 21 for assistance, if required.

Marine Site Investigation at Junk Bay

For approximately four months, marine site investigation works involving drilling of boreholes will be carried out [at Junk Bay] within the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (D) and the adjacent shoreline:

(A) 22 deg. 18.078’N / 114 deg. 15.459’E

(B) 22 deg. 17.759’N / 114 deg. 15.459’E

(C) 22 deg. 17.759’N / 114 deg. 15.256’E

(D) 22 deg. 17.824’N / 114 deg. 15.256’E

The works will be carried out by one flat top barge and one jack-up platform. Some tug boats will provide assistance.

A working area of approximately 50 metres around the barge will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the barge.

A working area of approximately 25 metres around the platform will be established. Yellow flashing lights will be installed at the four corners of the platform to indicate the position of the platform.

The hours of work will be from 0800 to 1800 hours. No works will be carried out on Sundays and bank holidays. Vessels employed for the works will stay in the works area outside the hours of work.

Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.

Another Bosphorus closure as bridge works continue

Due to continuing works on the 3. bridge (Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge), the Bosphorus will be closed to traffic from 0500 to 1700 hours local time on Saturday (20 June).
