MacGregor has secured new MacGregor Onboard Care (MOC) service and support agreements with shipping fleet operators, ship management companies and port terminal linkspans, to support the industry’s drive for safety, optimum efficiency and productivity.

Most recently, agreements have been reached with ship management companies Anglo Eastern Group and V Ships Group for the MacGregor Onboard Care (MOC) concept, which delivers a single-point tailored maintenance, training and technical support solution.

The agreement with V Ships Group was delivered through MARCAS, an association of shipping companies.

In addition, MacGregor has also entered into MOC renewals with The Tamar Bridge and Torpoint Joint Committee for three RoRo vessels. Isle of Man Steam Packet Company also renewed its MOC agreement with MacGregor. The company is the oldest continuously operating passenger shipping company in the world that provides a lifeline service to the island.

MacGregor Onboard Care features a range of advanced service solutions, which can include maintenance, spare parts management, technical support and training. A variety of component services, which range from simple inspection protocols to fully-integrated planned maintenance, can be selected to meet the bespoke requirements of customers enabling them to focus on their core business.

Frank O’Neill, Fleet Operations Manager for Isle of Man Steam Packet Co Ltd says: “The service agreement we have with MacGregor in the UK gives IoM Steam Packet Company a degree of comfort for the ongoing reliability of all critical hydraulic equipment on board our Flagship V Ben-My-Chree. The annual checks and subsequent proposals prepared by your service technicians provide us with a ‘belt and braces’ approach to maintaining the equipment in top order and ensures that we deal with problems at an early stage and before they develop into more serious events.”

Simon Hall, UK Sales Manager for MacGregor says: “Through our MOC agreements we are helping to drive the trend for planned maintenance as a cost effective option to manage and maintain vessels’ optimum operational effectiveness throughout their lifecycle. Planned maintenance significantly reduces the risk of malfunctions, whilst providing budget predictability. By working in close partnership with our customers to deliver services including onboard maintenance, spare part management and issue prevention-focused customer training, we can provide expertise that can support productivity and efficiency targets.”

He adds: “Our focus is on world-class service delivery, combined with serious attention to safety and environmental attitude throughout our MacGregor Onboard Care solutions portfolio, which is backed up by globally-recognised accreditations with structured high-level personnel training programmes that meet the professional service standards of IACS, UR Z17 and Z24.”
