Lord Digby Jones
The Institute of Export (IOE) has teamed up with International Trade Magazine to host its first annual ‘Green Light to Export’ conference for businesses who are seeking to harness the wealth of opportunities in international trade.
Taking place at the Hilton Metropole Hotel, Birmingham NEC on Thursday, October 15 from 9.15am-4pm, Lord Digby Jones, former Minister of State for Trade and Investment, is the headline speaker at the event to be attended by hundreds of companies and 30 exhibitors.
Fellow presenters will take delegates through all of the disciplines required to make a success of international business. They include Sarah Carroll, a leading UK expert in how to export online, John Burbidge-King, founder and CEO of Interchange Solutions Ltd and Stephen Dootson, group finance director of Hughes Safety Showers.
Visitors can mingle with some of the most proactive international business facilitators, explore the extensive exhibition zone – and enjoy a packed day of delegate sessions.
IOE director general, Lesley Batchelor OBE, commented: “If you are looking to implement a new international sales strategy, find new supply and trade partners or just sharpen up and review your practices and processes, then Green Light is the perfect forum for you and your colleagues. It is our aim to make this conference an annual fixture in all of our calendars”
About the Institute Of Export
The Institute of Export (IOE) was established in 1935 and is incorporated as a registered charity under the patronage of HRH The Duke of Kent. The Institute’s mission is to enhance the export performance of the United Kingdom by setting and raising professional standards in international trade management and export practice. This is achieved principally by the provision of education and training programmes.
Dedicated to professionalism and recognising the challenging and often complex trading conditions in international markets, the Institute is committed to the belief that real competitive advantage lies in competence and that commercial power, especially negotiating power, is underpinned by a sound basis of knowledge.
The IOE is the only professional body in the UK offering recognised, formal qualifications in International Trade. As an awarding body with the QCF the IOE is registered to make and grant qualifications. This includes modern apprenticeships, foundation degrees and all six levels of the National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs).
