London, 26 August – Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) has appointed Samson Rathaur as Senior Marine Risk Consultant. He will report to Dennis Murphy, Allianz Risk Consulting Regional Manager and support Capt. Rahul Khanna, Global Head of Marine Risk Consulting. Based in London, Samson will support clients globally.

Samson has 20 years’ experience in the marine industry. He is a graduate from the Warsash Maritime academy, a Master Mariner  and he has worked on a variety of different vessels ranging from passenger ferries to bulk carriers and container ships. In recent years he has worked onshore, establishing an operational support centre, refining sailing plans and carrying out risk assessments on new ports of call.

Capt. Rahul Khanna, Global head of Marine Risk Consulting said: “The marine market is changing rapidly with ever increasing vessels sizes and new routes opening up. The industry is critical to the global economy with 90% of trade estimated to be transported by sea. This is why we are growing our field of experts in this area. Samson brings on-the-ground knowledge of the marine market having worked across the industry. His recent sailing experience on board high-tech passenger vessels and risk assessments of ports will be a true asset.”
