From 7 September to 7 December, underwater maintenance work will be conducted at the Tuas Spring desalination plant, off Johor Strait.According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.99 of 2015, the works will be carried out between 0700 and 1900 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – within the working area bounded by the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
A) 01 deg. 18.210’N / 103 deg. 37.245’E B) 01 deg. 18.216’N / 103 deg. 37.232’E C) 01 deg. 18.233’N / 103 deg. 37.239’E D) 01 deg. 18.228’N / 103 deg. 37.251’E
Maintenance work involves the removal, cleaning and modification of the intake screens from the intake tower.
Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.
When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to: a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area; b) Maintain a proper lookout; c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution; d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control); and e) Communicate with Jurong Control on VHF Channel 22 for assistance, if required.

From 8-30 September, replacement work will be carried out at ExxonMobil Berth 5, off West Jurong Channel.According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.100 of 2015, the works will be conducted between 0800 and 1700 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – within the working area bounded by the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 01 deg. 17.597’N / 103 deg. 41.603’E 2) 01 deg. 17.597’N / 103 deg. 41.630’E 3) 01 deg. 17.590’N / 103 deg. 41.630’E 4) 01 deg. 17.590’N / 103 deg. 41.603’E
The crane barge assisted by tug boats will be used to install and remove the fenders and staircase. Divers will also be deployed for the work.
A safety boat will be in attendance at all times to warn and re-direct craft in the vicinity to keep clear of working area.

After 16 years with no cost changes, the Brazilian Port Health Authority (ANVISA) will update their taxes for services and permits by 293, 54% with effect from 9 September.The changes include:
* Free Practique value, which will be raised from 600, 00 BRL to 1.761, 27 BRL; and * Ship Sanitation Certificate (SSEC) which will be raised from 1.000 BRL to 2.935, 45 BRL.
