Following visits to Thessaloniki and Kavala in Northern Greece, the “Educational Community and Public Awareness Campaign on the Marine Environment, Shipping and Sciences” is now moving to the Saronic Gulf and specifically the historic island of Aegina.
The Campaign is carried out in 14 Greek towns and cities, between 2014 and 2017, with the support of Lloyd’s Register Foundation* (LRF). Besides raising awareness among schools and the wider community on the themes of the Campaign, the aim of this initiative is to inspire children in the Greek periphery to learn more about and engage with science, engineering and technology in the service of society and the environment, and give them access to information and facilities that they otherwise may not have had.
Under the auspices of the Municipality of Aegina, the Campaign’s environmental Exhibition will be hosted from 24 September to 7 October 2015 at the “Sofia Milioti” Hall of Aegina’s General Lyceum.
