GES 21 - 7 (002)Norsafe, global leader in marine life-saving equipment, will bring crew safety into sharp focus at KORMARINE in Busan, Korea, on Oct 20-23.

The company, which specialises in the design, manufacture and servicing of lifeboats, rescue boats and davits, will use this important exhibition to launch two new lifeboats targeting the merchant shipping and offshore markets.

The GES 21, is a free fall lifeboat especially designed for ships. With a maximum drop height of 21 metres and a capacity of 26 people, it is an affordable alternative to other freefall lifeboats in the same class with a davit specially designed to take up less deck space than other comparable models.

At the other end of the spectrum, Norsafe’s newly designed Maxima-120, is a totally enclosed 12 metre long conventional lifeboat which is the biggest in the company’s range. It is designed for large ships and offshore vessels and has a 150 person capacity.  It is built to meet full SOLAS requirements, NORSOK R-002, NMA Reg. FOR853, GOM, UK Sector (HSE) and has design features based on latest OLF studies.

Maxima_Front (002)“It is important for ship owners and managers to recognise that safeguarding their crew is a real priority and the safe and speedy evacuation of seafarers is vital when a ship or offshore installation has to be abandoned, ” said Øystein Schultz Sandberg, Vice President of Sales at Norsafe.

“Accidents at sea are all too common but with proper life-saving equipment, serious casualties can be avoided, ” he added.
