Recognised for commitment to operational excellence and environmental conservation

Dubai, 22 September 2015 – Global shipping, marine and logistics services provider GAC has won the “Ship Agent Award 2015” at the Seatrade Maritime Awards for the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa held this week at the Madinat Jumeirah Dubai, UAE.

The Seatrade Maritime Awards celebrate maritime excellence across the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa. The 2015 Awards ceremony was attended by over 850 influential industry stakeholders.

GAC’s Award recognises its commitment to improving efficiency while delivering high quality ship services. Further, it acknowledges GAC’s contribution to developing the regional maritime sector through its varied portfolio of integrated services.

GAC’s win highlights the company’s commitment to sustainability. As part of the World Ocean Council, the GAC Group supports sustainable development and ocean conservation. GAC also actively pursues innovative solutions to reduce industry impact on marine environment while improving shipping safety and efficiency. An example of such innovation is the eco-friendly HullWiper underwater hull cleaning system launched in 2013,  now in use at the ports of Jebel Ali, Sharjah and Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates, Sohar in Oman, Singapore, Spain and in Scandinavia.

Lars Bergstrom, GAC’s Group Vice President – Middle East says: “We are proud to have our commitment to performance acknowledged at the Seatrade Maritime Awards. GAC constantly defines and monitors Critical Success Factors and Key Performance Indicators that have a tangible and positive impact on time, cost management, planning, processes as well as customer and employee satisfaction.”
