Nautisk Global Head of Sales Peter J Pran has been elected Chair of the CNITA (Chart and Nautical Instrument Trade Association) Chart Committee. Established in 1918, CNITA comprises members from the world’s leading navigational chart distributors and provides an international forum for companies who supply, manufacture and maintain nautical charts, publications, instruments and magnetic compasses. CNITA has a long-standing relationship with the UKHO and works closely with senior staff on topics including new products and electronic charts.
Pran said: “It’s a great honour for me to be elected as part of the CNITA Chart Committee. As an ex-navigator, and through my position at Nautisk, I understand the importance of working together with both global hydrographic offices and our industry peers to ensure that we can guide each other, and our customers, through this highly-regulated sector.”
CNITA’s other elected officers are: President Torben Frerks (Weilbach), VP Celine Mortier (Bogerd Martin) and Priyanka Perera (B Cooke & Son Ltd) as Chair for the Compass Committee.
