The M/V ALITA. IMO 8503814 (174.10 meters LOA x 15, 85 meters in beam) has been reported sunk at the following approximate position: Latitude 09 deg. 23.87’N and Longitude 079 deg. 55.75’W, which is about 0.7 nautical miles and 325 deg. from the West Breakwater Light.The wreck is marked by two yellow spherical buoys, one marking the bow and the other marking the stern, with the following light characteristics: white lights 0.5 seconds on and 1.5 seconds off.The sunken vessel is reported to be in about 16.2 meters of water laying on its side and, since it has a beam of 16 meters, the side of the vessel is just below the surface.The following Admiralty Nautical Charts are affected: * Chart No.3111 – Atlantic Entrance to Panama Canal, including adjacent ports * Chart No.1400 – Outer Approached to Puerto CristobalMariners are urged to exercise extreme caution and avoid the above mentioned area. For approximately 2 weeks, coral survey will be carried out [at Sha Chau, Tai Mo To and Hong Kong International Airport] at the following locations (A) to (L) (WGS 84 Datum): (A) 22 deg. 21.216’N / 113 deg. 53.293’E (B) 22 deg. 19.995’N / 113 deg. 57.910’E (C) 22 deg. 19.747’N / 113 deg. 57.929’E (D) 22 deg. 19.367’N / 113 deg. 56.544’E (E) 22 deg. 19.274’N / 113 deg. 56.155’E (F) 22 deg. 19.388’N / 113 deg. 55.814’E (G) 22 deg. 19.227’N / 113 deg. 55.280’E (H) 22 deg. 19.046’N / 113 deg. 54.696’E (I) 22 deg. 18.864’N / 113 deg. 54.162’E (J) 22 deg. 18.728’N / 113 deg. 53.724’E (K) 22 deg. 18.319’N / 113 deg. 53.725’E (L) 22 deg. 18.083’N / 113 deg. 53.869’EDiving operations for inspecting and taking photographs of the coral will be carried out by a work boat in the above locations.The hours of work will be from 0700 to 1900 hours.Vessel engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution and keep clear at slow speed, bearing in mind that there are divers working at the locations.
