Dredging Operations off Hong Kong Coliseum, Hung Hom

For approximately 6 months, marine works involving dredging operations will be carried out in the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (E) :
(A) 22 deg. 17.904’N / 114 deg. 10.955’E
(B) 22 deg. 17.877’N / 114 deg. 10.955’E
(C) 22 deg. 17.858’N / 114 deg. 10.919’E
(D) 22 deg. 17.890’N / 114 deg. 10.867’E
(E) 22 deg. 17.910’N / 114 deg. 10.864’EThe works will be carried out by one grab dredger and one hopper barge. One tug will provide assistance. The number of vessels engaged in the works will change from time to time to suit operational requirements.A working area of approximately 50 metres around the dredger and barge will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the dredger and barge.

A silt curtain, extending from the sea surface to the seabed, will be established within the works area. The silt curtain is a large piece of netting used to contain mud and sediments. Yellow markers fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the extent of the silt curtain.

The hours of work will be from 0700 hours to 2300 hours. Vessels employed for the works will stay in the works areas outside the hours of work.

Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.

Jetty shutdown

Sabic North Tees Jetty 3 will be shut down from 0800 hours GMT on Monday 15 February until 1600 hours on Friday 26 February.The shutdown is related to the ongoing upgrade of the Terminal to receive Ethane as a feedstock, with first imports expected in August this year.For information about operations in the UK, contact GAC UK at uk@gac.com

Lock closure at Victoria Lock

Victoria Lock at Goole will be closed to all shipping during the following times to allow essential works to be carried out:

  • 0800 to 1600 on Monday15 February
  • 0800 to 1600 on Tuesday 16 February
  • 0800 to 1600 on Wednesday 17 February

During this time, it will be necessary to reduce the dock level by 25cm on a daily basis.

Closure of Izmit Bay

Entry-exit traffic at Izmit Bay will be suspended on the following days due to the works on Izmit Bay Bridge:

  • Saturday 13 February 2016 from 07:00 to 17:00 hours
  • Sunday 14 February 2016 from 07:00 to 13:00 hours
  • Tuesday16 February 2016 from 07:00 to 17:00 hours
  • Wednesday 17 February 2016 from 07:00 to 17:00 hours
