VIDEO LAUNCH FOR 13TH INTERNATIONAL NAVAL ENGINEERING CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION
The video launch of INEC 2016, the 13th International Naval Engineering Conference and Exhibition, being held in The Passenger Shed at Brunel’s Old Station in Bristol (Tuesday 26 – Thursday 28 April 2016) has made stars of four of its Technical Advisory Committee members, Chairman Cdr Matt Bolton RN, Ministry of Defence, UK; Lt Cdr Rinze Geertsma RNLN, Delft University of Technology; Lt Cdr Ian Hassall RN, Ministry of Defence, UK; and Keith Howard, of the Babcock International Group. It is online at www.inec.org.uk
INEC is one of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology’s (IMarEST) learned society events, and the video has brought praise from the Institute’s Chief Executive, David Loosley: “What a great way to explain what a superb conference is awaiting delegates from in excess of 18 countries from as far afield as Australia, Canada, India and across Europe, ” he says.
“Each member highlights key points about the conference that will really resonate with the maritime community; I wholeheartedly recommend looking at it, as in 3.42 minutes they get over all the salient points in a compelling and highly memorable way. We are all looking forward to a highly stimulating three days in Bristol.
“As Ian Hassall explains ‘INEC is the conference for engineers, run by engineers, from the IMarEST’; and Matt Bolton quite rightly describes it as ‘The most prestigious event in the naval engineers’ calendar’, and talks of the great programme offering ‘real breadth of content’.
“Between the four of them, they cover the content of the conference; the historical links with Brunel; the social side of things that offers superb networking opportunities – not least of all aboard Brunel’s ss Great Britain; the Sir Donald Gosling Award designed to recognise young authors aged 35 and below; and all stress the importance of the networking opportunities.
“Matt Bolton sums it up powerfully as ‘bringing people together from all walks of life from across the spectrum of engineering, science, and technology, industry, navies from across the world and academia; and providing the opportunity to talk to each other and challenge each other in a wonderful networking environment’. I thank all four of our committee members for their input.”
