Water Safety Day
Monday, April 25, 2016, Hong Kong
The Water Safety Day will be conducted from 0830 hours to 1230 hours on 1 May 2016 (Sunday) at Repulse Bay and South Bay. About 2, 500 swimmers are expected participating in a 3000-metre swimming session.The event will take place at Repulse Bay and South Bay with the seaward boundaries delineated by straight lines joining the following positions:
(A) the west end of Tau Chau
(B) the east end of Middle IslandMasters, coxswains and persons-in-charge of vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution and keep well clear from the above area.

Regulations for STS operations amended

The Port of Fujairah has advised changes to the regulations covering Ship-to-Ship (STS) operations.In its Notice to Mariners No.203 dated 21 April 2016, the port advises that the vessel’s Certificate of Origin & Bill of Lading of cargo need to be submitted in advance prior to any STS operation.Documents issued by sellers or third parties cannot be considered as equivalent to Certificate of Origin. Certificate of Origin should be one issued from official loading terminal with stamping authority’s name signature and stamp.
