This month there are a lot of activities in the Maritime Museum! Soon open the photo exhibition The Ultimate Sailor:.. Under construction also launched summer cruises, where you learn everything about the Plantagebuurt Saturday May 28th you can take a unique glimpse behind the scenes in building the conference table for the EU conferencing and there is a great new addition to the museum. NEW ACQUISITION IN THE MUSEUM
A masterpiece of 17th century marine painter Reinier Nooms is a thing of the museum and can be admired from the autumn. The paintingView of the IJ’s see Zeemagazijn land, the location of the current Maritime Museum.
SAILING WITH YOU THROUGH AMSTERDAM
Just like before, the city of Amsterdam can still be admired best from the water. In a fifty-minute tour you will hear all about the plantation. A unique neighborhood in the eastern part of Amsterdam’s center, where there are regular tour boats. Listen to the special history of this undiscovered area!

The family exhibition “Life on board” includes one year! This exhibition has attracted many visitors in the past year, having learned playfully how things went on at sea. And that was not always so cozy, clean and safe as you think. Learn more about the story behind this exhibition?

ADJUSTED OPENING HOURS
From May 29 t / m June 3 is the museum for the third and last host venue for the informal Council of Ministers and thereby temporarily only available to EU officials and ministers. You are welcome at The National Maritime Museum XXS front of the building where the museum guide tells a fascinating story about the Golden Age in relation to Amsterdam and the EU.

LOOK BEHIND THE SCENES!
Take a look Saturday, May 28th at the Open Pleyn. In the specially designed carpet, the huge, built round conference table, which seats 29 participating ministers. You can also listen to the story about the Netherlands in the Golden Age, a museum docent tells you an inspiring story. Access to the Open Pley is free.

EXPECTED – THE ULTIMATE SAILOR: UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Friday, June 10 will open the photo exhibition The Ultimate Sailor: under construction for visitors. Four contemporary photographers give a provocative reflection on the sometimes caricatured image of contemporary sailor. They expose their photography underlying themes such as migration / refugees (Koen Hauser), exotic (Jan Hoek), malleability (Marie-José Jongerius) and gender neutrality (Aisha Zeijpveld). On Thursday 9 June we will open the exhibition for invited guests. Want to attend this special opening? Join the Association Netherlands Historical Maritime Museum. You will receive invitations to exclusive lectures, tours and parties such as the opening of this exhibition.
