VTS Houston/Galveston temporarily suspended vessel movements within Jacinto Port Slip, including Houston Fuel and Oil Dock 1/2 due to an oil spill at Jacinto Port Ship Dock 1. Wake and surge considerations were also imposed for passing Houston Ship Channel traffic.Jacinto Port Slip and Houston Fuel and Oil Docks were reopened to all vessel traffic at 0227 hours local time today (28 July) after the spill was contained.

The West lane of Miraflores Locks will be out of service from 22:00 hours on Tuesday, August 2, until 22:00 hours onFriday, August 5, 2016 (3 days). Further, the West lane of Pedro Miguel Locks will be out of service from 00:01 hours to 12:00 hours on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 (12 hours).As a result, and in accordance with the rules governing the Transit Reservation System, Booking Condition 2 for the Panamax Locks will be in effect. Booking Condition 2 reduces the available slots for Supers from 17 to 10, and from 8 to 6 for Regulars.
Therefore, there will no booking slots available for the period Aug 3-5 (all first and second period slots taken) for Supers in the opening of the third period unless there is a cancellation.
