More then 2,500 containers are seized and waiting for bank guarantees in the port of La Spezia and the balance is stacked on board three company vessels that most probably in the next few days will have to call at Middle Eastern and Chinese ports.
Moreover, Alessandro Laghezza, who’s also board meember of the Italian cargo Federation (Confetra), further delay in delivery of the cargo seized of the quays or stuck on board the three vessels, Hanjin Italy” and “Hanjin Tabul” mored in Jeddah, and “Hanjin Korea” sailing to Yantian, might cause seroius problems to some Italian industries , especially in the automotive sector, waiting for industrial components from Korea.
The Hanjin collapse is causing serious problems to the workforce of Gastaldi shipping agency in Genoa and more then 95 employees might be put in the redundancy list.
