Greece: Unemployment rate drops , however employment growth decelerates in October 2016
The unemployment rate stood at 23.0% in October 2016 (or 23.7% – 12 month moving average) from 23.1% in September 2016 and 24.5% in October 2015
Our forecast for 2016 is 23.6%.
- Descriptive statistics, Jan 2004 – Oct 2016:
- Mean = 16.3%
- Median = 12.4%
- Max = 27.9% in July 2013
- Min = 7.3% in May 2008
- The annual % change of employment was 1.4% (the rate is decelerating during the last 10 months!)
- The annual % change of unemployment was -6.8%.
- The annual % change of the labour force was -0.6%.
